...because email is not the solution
Stevedore -- DocWorker for the heavy lifting
This is a collection of user case studies showing Stevedore in action.
Staff Phone List Correction
- Jim finds that a new person's name is mis-spelled in the staff phone list.
- Wishing to have this corrected, Jim sends an email to Lisa because he knows that Lisa maintains the phone list.
- Jim did not send a link to the phone list in his email to Lisa. That is OK in this case,
because as the receptionist, she maintains the phone list, so she knows where to find the document.
- Lisa uses Stevedore to check out the document (while viewing the phone list with Firefox clicks on the
CheckOutButton)
[Screen Shots - Check Out A Document].
- Lisa uses OpenOffice to make the correction to the document
[Screen Shots - Edit A Document].
- Lisa drags the corrected file from her MyStevedoreFolder
to her CheckInToPublishFolder
[Screen Shots - Check In A Document].
- Lisa replies to Jim's email
[Screen Shots - 'Send' A Document]
stating that the requested change has been made.
- Jim views the corrected phone list by following the link in the email from Lisa
[Screen Shots - View A Document].
The new version is also available for all of the users.
The next monthly printing of the phone list will include the correction.
