Are your existing documents stored in Samba shares, home folders and as attachments in various emails? Is there no management of versions? While there are numerous documentation management systems for handling complex environments available for enterprise class corporations, there is a need for a simple improvement in the handling of internal non-product documents.

Stevedore makes published documents easily available for both consumers and producers of internal documents. The existing silos and the pattern of stale versions being scattered about is eliminated by Stevedore. It suports an edit/publish workflow. The only documents users keep in their home folder are those being modified. This means less clutter exists, because there is a place for every document. All of this is provided with no new applications for the users to learn. Just a few conventions and add-ons to existing applications are necessary. New server-side software provides the power behind Stevedore.
